Scott Jorgensen fell short in his bout against Brazil’s Wilson Reis Saturday night at UFC 179 in Rio de Janeiro.
Jorgensen dropped Reis early with a right hand counter, but wasn’t quite able to put him away. After Reis recovered, Jorgensen easily shrugged off his takedown attempts while continuing to land the better shots on the feet. The tide turned quickly however, as Reis landed a big left body kick that visibly hurt Jorgensen. After that, Reis moved quickly, securing a takedown against the fence, landing some quick hammer fists and right uppercuts, before locking in an arm triangle choke. His ribs damaged from the kick, Jorgensen was unable to defend the choke and was forced to submit.
We’re all proud of you Scott and know how close you were to finishing that fight!
