Combat Fitness/SBG Idaho amateur lightweight (155 lb), Steven Hernandez (1-0), will make his second trip to the cage at the Clash MMA 17, April 9 at the Eccles Ice Arena in Logan, Utah.
After an impressive debut last month at FSF8, the former Boise State wrestling standout will take on former lightweight champion McKinley Smith (7-1) for the vacant lightweight belt. CF/SBG Idaho will look to keep the lightweight belt in house as the current champion and Hernandez teammate, Elmar Umarov, is vacating the title he took from Smith by submission last December, in anticipation of his professional debut.
Hernandez will join teammates Stephen Stirewalt (amateur bantamweight) and Freddy Arteaga (professional flyweight) on the bill that evening. We are looking forward to a night of exciting fights and great victories!!!
