SBG Idaho coach and resident Black Belt, Scott Thometz will be appearing in the first ever Proving Grounds Invitational Professional Jiu-Jitsu Event. Proving Grounds will take place on September 10 at The Garage MMA in Layton, Utah.
Proving Grounds is an invite only, submission only, winner-take-all tournament. The winner in each weight division (160-, 160-190, and 190+) will take home a $2000 cash prize. The event will be conducted under the EBI (Eddie Bravo Invitational) rule set. Coach Thometz will be competing in the under 160 lb division and will take on Unified Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt, Damon Morgan in the opening round. The entire bracket can be seen above and includes legendary grappler, Bill “The Grill” Cooper, UFC veteran, Tyson Griffin, as well as some of the best grapplers in the west!
We are incredibly excited to watch Coach Thometz test his skills against true world class competition!!!
