SBG Idaho kickboxers, Tim Wanless and Zach Ferrall, picked up dominant victories over their hometown opponents at Mountain Force Kickboxing 2 (February 23, Legacy Events Center, Farmington, Utah).
Wanless (1-0 KB, 1-0 MTF KB) dazzled in his debut against Michael Dukes, recording a first round headkick knockout! Wanless kept the shorter Dukes off balance and on the defensive, landing long range punches and kicks to the head, body and, legs. With his opponent backed to the ropes and overwhelmed, Wanless faked low before coming up high and putting Dukes to sleep with a perfect headkick!
Ferrall (1-1 KB, 1-0 MTF KB) put together a masterful performance against the taller Jon Fraumeni, recording a shutout unanimous decision (30-27 on all scorecards). Ferrall moved forward behind an active jab, backing Fraumeni into the ropes repeatedly and unleashing flurries of punches to the body and head. When Fraumeni attempted to circle out of danger, Ferrall was able to cut him off with low kicks before stepping back out of range. Ferrall stuck to the gameplan, and kept up a ferocious pace, resulting in the one-sided victory!
Congrats to both Tim and Zach on a job well done, your hard work paid off and we can’t wait to see you continue to develop! Special thanks to coaches Matt May and Kai Chantavong for making the trip down and working the corner!!!
