Here at SBG Idaho we are always looking for ways to grow martial arts in our community. In that effort, we are proud to announce we will be hosting the first ever International Kickboxing Federation (IKF) Point Muay Thai event in our state on Saturday, May 18!
The IKF PMT circuit is designed to help athletes learn to “play” Muay Thai by limiting damaging blows to the head. Athletes are then able to better relax during competition, thereby increasing reflexes, timing, and fight IQ. Fight are 2, 2 min rounds, with a 3rd tie breaker round if needed. Rounds are judged using a 10-point must scoring criteria.
This event is for everyone, from seasoned competitors looking to keep their skills sharp, all the way to new students trying out competition for the first time in a low-stress, friendly environment. This will also be a great opportunity to meet other members of the Treasure Valley martial arts community and surrounding areas! So come join us Saturday, May 18 for an afternoon of exciting Muay Thai!!!
Competitors must register for the event online HERE. Weigh-ins will run from 8-10am, rules at 11am, and fights begin at noon.
Spectator tickets are $20-40 and can be purchased at the door or ONLINE.
