Combat Fitness/SBG Idaho’s Veta Arteaga improved her record to 4-1 last night, picking up a unanimous decision victory over Hannah Fitzpatrick at Real MMA in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Veta used her superior striking and grappling to control her aggressive opponent. Baited into a brawl early, Arteaga switched gears and began using her jab and footwork to take control of the larger Fitzpatrick, following up her jab with hard right hands and kicks. In round 2 in was more of the same early, until Fitzpatrick was able to clinch and secure a bodylock takedown, but Veta was able to reverse the position and pass to side control as the round expired. The final round was similar to the first as Arteaga was able to remain upright and pick apart Fitzpatrick from standing.
Great job Veta, we’re very proud of you!!!
