Stephen Whittier Returns to Boise February 27-28!

SBG Blackbelt Coach Stephen Whittier will be visiting us again for a two day seminar, February 27 and 28! Stephen Whittier is the head coach at SBG East Coast. He holds a black belt in BJJ under Roberto Maia and the honorary title of Kru in Muay Thai. Coach Whittier recently earned the rank of Red Mongkol (one of only four coaches in the country to achieve that rank). He is also a black belt in Jeet Kune Do, Shotokan Karate, and a second degree black belt in Filipino Kali/Eskrima.

Stephen has coached and trained with elite fighters in Muay Thai, BJJ and MMA, including some UFC household names. But his coaching style is not solely for the elite. Stephen is also the developer of programs concentrating on coaching students over 40 in BJJ with his “40 Plus BJJ” Facebook group reaching over 17,000 members. The ability to coach some of the best fighters in the world, as well as beginners and older students, demonstrates not just unparalleled knowledge, but also an ability to teach that that is second to none.

This visit Coach Whittier will be sharing his extensive knowledge to all SBG Idaho students, with Saturday covering striking with a focus on padwork, and Sunday covering jiu jitsu with a focus on escapes. The cost will be $80 for the entire weekend or training or $50 for one day, and will run from 10am until 1pm both days. Students are asked to bring both boxing gloves and shinguards for Saturday’s section and a gi/rashguard for Sunday. This is a great opportunity for any student to improve their entire martial arts game no matter their skill or experience level!

For the first time, Coach Whittier will also be available for private and semi-private training while visiting us. He has spots available Friday, Saturday and Sunday with groups of 1-2 being $150/hour and groups of 3-4 being $200/hour. Please contact us to reserve your spot.

Sign ups will be available at the front desk or at store.sbgidaho.com. We look forward to having Coach Whittier back in Boise, and look forward to seeing you all February 27 and 28!
