Former Boise State wrestling standout, Steven Hernandez, will make his mixed martial arts debut on January 15, 2016 at Tuff-N-Uff at the COX Pavilion in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Hernandez comes to Combat Fitness/SBG Idaho following an amateur wrestling career that saw him claim the starting spot for Boise State three times. Hernandez was an NCAA qualifier as a senior as well as a PAC-12 runner-up and two time bronze medalist. As a high schooler, Hernandez won four Nevada high school state championships.
Hernandez will be taking on Bryhayn Zurcher (1-1) in an amateur lightweight (155 lb) bout. Steven is an incredible athlete with limitless potential, and we are incredibly excited to watch him take the next step in his combat sports career.
