Arteaga Drops Combate Americas Debut

unnamed

October 14th 2016. Verona, New York SBG Idaho Coach Freddy Arteaga (8-5 MMA, 0-1 Combate Americas) dropped his Combate Americas debut to late notice replacement Matt Almy (3-1 MMA, 1-0 Combate Americas) at Combate Americas: Empire Rising. The round started off slow with the larger, natural bantamweight Almy keeping his range with leg kicks and teeps. Arteaga landed  a few hard punches to the body but had a difficult time finding his range due to Almy’s movement and kicks. An Almy spinning back kick to the liver dropped Arteaga against the cage, Freddy tried to fight back up but the larger Almy dragged Freddy back to the ground and swarmed him with punches causing referee Dan Miragliotta to call the fight at  2:59 of Round 1.

While the result did not go our way we expect Coach Freddy to be back in action soon, proving again why he is one of the most exciting fighters at 125 pounds!
